Mr. Yi Yang is a seasoned medical technology executive, entrepreneur, and pioneer with over 30 years of experience driving disruptive innovations from concept to global commercial scale. Based in Silicon Valley, he has consistently bridged the gap between cutting-edge engineering and impactful clinical execution, ultimately improving the lives of tens of thousands of patients worldwide.
Currently, he serves as the Founder and Managing Director of IC2R, a premier MedTech innovation venture foundry designed to accelerate the development of next-generation medical solutions. He is also the Chairman of the Infinion MedTech Group, an international contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO).
Prior to these roles, he was the Co-founder and former Chief Technology Officer of Imperative Care - the 21st company accelerated by Incept. During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in the company's meteoric growth, raising over $500 million in capital, securing key issued patents, and overseeing R&D, manufacturing operations, and a rapid commercial ramp that took the company from zero to a $40 million run-rate revenue. To date, the technologies developed under his leadership have successfully treated more than 80,000 ischemic stroke patients.
Mr. Yang’s extensive leadership history includes serving as Co-founder and VP of R&D at CAVU Medical, Inc., an obesity-focused startup where he was instrumental in securing seed and Series A funding. He also served as VP of R&D at Boston Scientific Corporation. He joined Boston Scientific through its $200 million acquisition of EndoTex Interventional Systems, Inc., where he was VP of R&D. Earlier in his career, he was a technical project manager at EP Technologies, Inc., which was also acquired by Boston Scientific for $150 million.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. Dr. Wen-Hsiang Chang is a seasoned biomaterials and medical device expert with more than 20 years of experience in research, development, and technology management. Throughout his career, he has been dedicated to advancing innovations in biomaterials, tissue repair and regeneration, orthopedic medical devices, and nanomedicine. Leveraging his strong academic background and extensive industry experience, his work has spanned advanced biomaterials, regenerative medicine, and medical device technologies, contributing to the translation of innovative concepts into clinically meaningful solutions.
In recent years, Dr. Chang served as the Chief Technology Officer of Taiwan Biomaterial Co., Ltd. (TWBM), where he was responsible for the company's technology development and product development strategy. He participated in the development of several key products, including the Foamagen dura substitute, tissue repair and regeneration products for the treatment of early osteoarthritis, and aspiration pump systems, successfully advancing these technologies from research and development to commercialization.
Prior to joining TWBM, he held positions as Researcher, Senior Researcher, and Manager at the Biomedical Technology and Device Research Laboratories of the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), where he was involved in the development of orthopedic medical devices and cartilage repair products, as well as technology platform establishment and product verification activities. Earlier in his career, he worked at the Materials and Chemical Research Laboratories of ITRI, contributing to the development of drug delivery carriers and MRI contrast agents based on iron oxide nanoparticles, which laid a strong foundation for his expertise in biomaterials and nanotechnology.
Dr. Chang received his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University. Over the years, he has remained committed to advancing biomaterials, regenerative medicine, and medical device technologies, with a focus on transforming innovative technologies into products with meaningful clinical impact and contributing to improvements in patient care and the continued advancement of the healthcare industry.
張文祥博士是一位資深生醫材料與醫療器材研發專家,擁有超過二十年的產業研發與技術管理經驗,長期致力於生物材料、組織修復與再生、骨科醫療器材及奈米醫學等領域的創新與產品開發。憑藉深厚的學術背景與豐富的產業經驗,其研究成果橫跨先進生醫材料、再生醫學及醫療器材技術,持續推動創新技術的臨床應用與產業化發展。
近年來,其擔任台灣生醫材料股份有限公司(TWBM)技術長,負責公司整體技術發展與產品開發策略,並參與多項關鍵產品的研發,包括 Foamagen 硬腦膜替代物、用於早期退化性關節炎治療之組織修復與再生產品,以及抽吸幫浦系統等,成功推動多項技術由研發階段邁向產品化。
在加入 TWBM 之前,其於工業技術研究院(ITRI)生醫與醫材研究所歷任研究員、高級研究員及經理等職務,參與骨科醫療器材及軟骨修復治療產品之開發,並投入相關技術平台建置與產品驗證工作,累積深厚的醫療器材研發及專案管理經驗。更早之前,於工研院材料與化工研究所從事先進生醫材料研究,參與藥物釋放載體及磁振造影顯影劑(氧化鐵奈米粒子)等技術開發,奠定其在生醫材料與奈米技術領域的堅實基礎。
其於國立清華大學取得化學工程博士學位。多年來持續深耕生醫材料、再生醫學及醫療器材領域,致力於將創新技術轉化為具臨床價值之產品,並為提升病患治療品質及促進醫療產業發展做出重要貢獻。
